Vote for GOTR’s PARK(ing) day space and we could win $1,500 from PEMCO!
On Friday, Sept 19th, you’ll find us at 974 Republican Street in the South Lake Union neighborhood, where we’ll be constructing a Mini Green Lake in an urban metered parking space! Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a mini 5k (okay, 5ft!) race around the lake and receive a chocolate medal prize. Stop by to vote for us or vote online by “liking” our pic on PEMCO’s PARKing day album on facebook.
Why? We are doing this as part of the International PARK(ing) Day where artists, designers and citizens transform urban parking spaces into mini parks to celebrate a walkable and livable city. Yeay Seattle!
We’ll be competing against 2 other non-profits for a chance to win a donation from PEMCO. All 3 nonprofits will be using inspiration from PEMCO’s “We’re a lot like you” campaign and utilizing their favorite Northwest Profile (We’re the Green Lake power walkers! But we’ll have appearances from other profile characters too :). The nonprofit with the most votes will be awarded $1,500 for their cause!
How to cast your vote:
There are two ways to vote for your favorite park: Visit our PEMCO park to cast your vote in person, or vote online at PEMCO’s Facebook page – just “like” the photo of your favorite park by 3 p.m. Friday. They’ll tally all the votes and announce the winning nonprofit on Facebook that afternoon!
