“We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.”

The 10-week Girls on the Run program is offered twice a year – in the fall and in the spring. Participants meet twice a week, usually after school, for approximately 75 – 90 minutes each practice. Both seasons culminate with a 5K event where all Girls on the Run participants throughout the Puget Sound come together to celebrate girl power.

The spring 2013 season will run from March 4th to May 21st, with the GOTR 5K taking place on May 18th. Spring 2013 registration will open on Friday, January 18th, 2013.

Spring 2013 Season Information:

  • If your site accepts paper applications only, you can ask for a registration form from the main office starting on January 18th or download it  from our website. Please return it to your site liaison by Thursday, February 14th.
  • Our spring season will begin the week of March 4th.
  • Participants have until the 3rd practice to withdraw from GOTR and still receive a refund. After that refunds are not available.
  • All girls must be able to commit to BOTH practice days and times in order to participate. Please make sure this is possible BEFORE registering. Thank you!
  • Registration for spring 2013 will be by lottery. If a program site overfills and we are unable to accommodate your daughter, we will contact you on or before February 27th to notify you and issue you a full refund.
  • Spring season will span the weeks of March 4 – May 21.
  • Online payment is by credit card only (Visa, Mastercard, Discover). If additional payment options are necessary, please ask for a paper application the first week of school at the main office and return to your school’s site liaison.
  • Our spring 5K will be on Saturday, May 18th, and will be open to the community- women, men, children, leashed pets and all-terrain strollers welcome!

Registration Fee

Girls on the Run of Puget Sound requests that each program participant’s family pays a registration fee. The actual cost of the Girls on the Run program is $165 per participant. This fee covers supplies, healthy snacks, 5k materials, coach trainings and staff support. We offer a sliding scale so that families of all sizes and income levels can choose an appropriate registration fee. We do not ask for proof of income or expense. We rely on the honesty and integrity of parent/guardians to choose their appropriate registration fee and contribute as much towards the full cost of the program as they are able.
