This has been one of my favorite seasons coaching Girls on the Run. I have two awesome co-coaches and our girls are truly a dream team.
I remember one day at practice our girls ran in honor of someone or something important to them. They all met their lap goals and some girls even surpassed their goals. When we processed the lesson afterward, the girls shared how it felt to run for someone else. They used words like, “strong,” “brave,” “happy,” and “proud.” As coaches, we were really impressed with how powerful and empowering this was for the girls.
It’s hard to believe we are two practices away from the 5k. It’s sad to have the season over, but was amazing to watch our strong, brave girls cross that finish line feeling happy and proud!
