Meet our July Girl Hero, Kerin Brasch!

If you’ve attended one of our last eighteen Girls on the Run 5k’s, you may have caught sight of our July Hero, Kerin Brasch, enthusiastically cheering girls across the finish line. Kerin’s pride in each of our program participants, exhibited by energetic clapping and cheering at the finish line, was evident to all. As Executive Director of Girls on the Run of Puget Sound from 2009 until her recent retirement on June 30th, Kerin has worked tirelessly to ensure an ever-increasing number of girls in our community have access to the positive and inspiring messages needed to realize their limitless potential.

In 2009, when Kerin stepped into the role of GOTRPS Executive Director, just over 100 girls participated in Girls on the Run locally. This past spring, 1,963 girls successfully and joyfully completed the program and crossed the finish line of the QFC Girls on the Run 5K. This 1,700% growth in girls during Kerin’s tenure is the direct result of her passion and drive to ensure that more girls realize their strength, potential, and self-worth.

Beyond growing the program, Kerin has ensured the longevity and future success of the organization by building a hardworking staff and Board of Directors who are dedicated to the mission of inspiring more girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident. Thanks to Kerin’s strategic vision and clear focus, GOTRPS has the partnerships, support, and infrastructure needed for a long and successful future serving girls in the Puget Sound area.

We are grateful for Kerin’s work to ensure the stability and success of Girls on the Run and look forward to many years of serving and empowering girls locally. Please join us in thanking Kerin for her commitment and immense contributions to our organization. We are so grateful!
