Help Empower Girls to be Strong and Feel Good About Who They Are
Girls on the Run of Puget Sound is a volunteer-based organization. Without the fabulous volunteers who donate their time each year to be coaches and running buddies, our program would not be possible. Volunteers also provide invaluable support in a number of other ways that help our organization to grow and touch the lives of girls.
We offer great opportunities for people who want to see girls turn into strong, confident women. Whether you want to work directly with girls, help build the capacity of our organization, lend your professional skills, or help out for a few hours when you can, Girls on the Run has many avenues for involvement. It’s a great way to meet new people, do something rewarding and have fun!
Have a group that wants to volunteer?
We welcome groups to volunteer. Volunteer commitments can be as short as a few hours (kit building, auction support, Community 5K support); a few days (volunteering as a Running Buddy); or a few months (coaching twice weekly for ten weeks). Our short term volunteer opportunities are best for volunteering as a group. Running Buddy or Coach volunteer opportunities are more of an individual volunteer opportunity as we only need 2-3 coaches or 4-6 running buddies per practice site. If you volunteer as a coach or a running buddy you can still enjoy the camaraderie of volunteering when all the coaches, running buddies and girls from all the sites come together for the GOTR Community 5K.
