Our organizations’ values are well aligned as we are each committed to inspiring girls and women everywhere to achieve their limitless potential. These shared ideals initially brought many members of the Athleta team to Girls on the Run of Sonoma County, California as volunteer coaches, running buddies and board members. It is through their heartfelt commitment to the program that the company sought to partner with Girls on the Run at the national level.

When Goody learned of the Girls on the Run program in 2005, they realized it was a perfect match. Goody team members have volunteered at Girls on the Run of Atlanta and other local councils for many years as coaches and volunteers. Goody and Girls on the Run share a similar mission to give girls and women tools that allow them to confidently express themselves to the outside world in any setting. That’s what makes the partnership such a perfect fit.

The Girls on the Run 5K is the culminating, celebratory event for all program participants. Each season, Goody sets up Happy Hair stations and girls have the opportunity to adorn their hair with fantastic Goody accessories and colored hair spray as a fun way to commemorate their incredible accomplishment – running, walking, skipping or jumping their way across that 5K finish line.

Secret has been a national sponsor of Girls on the Run since 2008. Our partnership with Secret deodorant enables Girls on the Run International to reach more girls, improve our program offerings, and encourage girls everywhere to embrace their authentic selves.

In 2009, Secret challenged girls to write about how Girls on the Run “helped them to be more FEARLESS”. Ten winners were selected from an outstanding pool of submissions, and the winning essays are available for viewing on our web site. Lena, a 5th grade Secret essay winner, wrote: “I am much more brave now. I don’t think I could have done it without Girls on the Run. I am proud to say I AM fearless!”

Girls on the Run International would like to thank Horizon Fitness, sponsor of the Girls on the Run SoleMates program, for their continued investment in the program. Horizon’s support enables Girls on the Run SoleMates to recognize and reward participants, volunteers and Girls on the Run councils for their hard work on behalf of the program.
