About Our Board of Directors

Anna Treadway
Anna Treadway has worked for over 12 years in the Seattle area as a school teacher, program manager, trainer, community organizer, and all-around youth advocate. Currently, she coordinates youth programs for the City of Seattle's Human Services Department. She's especially excited about gender-specific programming and working directly with girls and young women. She loves Girls on the Run because girls get to have fun and be active while learning to respect themselves, their bodies and other people in their lives.

Barbara Krauss
Barbara Krauss is a community outreach professional with over twenty years of experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors. She has developed targeted outreach programs, mobilized volunteers, coordinated giving programs, and built strategic alliances. Skilled in management and partnership building, she has developed a significant and effective network of relationships with community organizations and provided training that improved the delivery of services to the community. Some of Barbara's community involvement includes: YWCA, Youth Eastside Services, Hearing Speech and Deafness Center, Girl Scouts of America, Friends of Youth, Rotary International, and, of course, Girls on the Run. As a former GOTR Coach and now Board member, Barbara's passion is creating the space for girls to emerge into confident and impassioned young women.

Dana Viernes
For Dana, running is a retreat from the stresses of everyday life, a welcome start to her days, and a way to stay healthy mentally, physically and emotionally. She was drawn to GOTR because of its mission and the creative way that GOTR combines physical activity with the development of the whole girl during this critical stage in her life. Dana had been searching for a way to be more active in the community and the combination of physical activity and the program's focus on pre-adolescent girls resonates deeply with her.

Eleanor Bradley
Eleanor comes from a family of runners (in fact, her father, mother, sister, brother, sister-in-law, husband, cousin and aunt all ran the Marine Corps Marathon to celebrate her father's 60th birthday). Running has always been an important part of her life and was instrumental in building her self-confidence during those tough middle-school years. The mission of GOTR resonates with Eleanor because of the importance of running in her own life, her belief in the need to counter the mounting pressures on young women, and the fact that she is now raising twin girls. Prior to joining the board, Eleanor was involved with Girls on the Run of Puget Sound as a coach and committee volunteer. Eleanor works in marketing for Expedia and has an MBA from Wharton and a BA from Yale.

Ineke van Waardenburg
Ineke first started running in elementary school where she was required to "run the mile"...she came in last nearly every time. Fast forward 20 years where she was inspired by a close friend to try again and started running around the block near her home. She soon found herself running half marathons! Running has empowered Ineke in so many ways and she is motivated to help girls in our community to find this inner strength through their participation in Girls on the Run. Ineke attended Willamette University and has since working in the retail industry for over 10 years service various management roles. She has recently complete the University of Washington Nonprofit Management Certificate Program and serves Big Brothers Big Sisters as the Corporate Relations Manager. Ineke is also a member of the Junior League of Seattle.

Kate Crisham
Kate was first introduced to the Girls on the Run mission as she coached at the Chicago council. She had a first-hand experience seeing the positive impact GOTR has on the lives of young girls. After moving to Seattle to pursue her career as an Assistant United States Attorney, she volunteered as a running buddy at our local council. Her passion to facilitate permanent change has led her to GOTRPS and to serving on the Board of Directors. Kate is excited to be part of a growing program so that even more girls will have the opportunity to feel the amazing sense of accomplishment that comes from crossing the finish line of a 5k run. Her professional legal skills aid the Board in developing long-range plans and strategies for the GOTR of Puget Sound.

Katie McCarthy Stangland
Katie is a swimmer, runner, cyclist, wife and mother of two young girls. Sports are what kept her out of trouble and focused as a kid, and she is extremely thankful to her parents for encouraging her. Not everyone has that encouragement and that is why Girls on the Run is so special. Katie's goal is to grow the organization and lay a good foundation so that her girls, their friends and many more will grow to become strong and healthy leaders in their community. Katie is the senior media relations consultant for Group Health Cooperative and volunteers on the Greater Seattle YMCA Communications Board. When not working or being a mom, she swims on a masters swim team.

Katy Coffey
Katy ran cross country through junior high and high school, and had the opportunity to coach a high school cross country team while in college. Girls on the Run attracted Katy because of the opportunities it creates for elementary school aged girls. She is looking forward to helping teach other people in the community about all that Girls on the Run has to offer and is excited to help the program grow and touch even more girls throughout Puget Sound. Katy is a CPA and a senior auditor for Ernst and Young and will be helping with the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors. Katy enjoys spending time in the great outdoors and traveling in her free time.

Kirsten Nesholm
Kirsten Nesholm has worked in the Seattle Public Schools for over ten years, first as an elementary teacher and now as an elementary science coach. Growing up, she was always the one picked lasted for teams. At the age of 30 she discovered the joys of running and has now completed thirteen half marathons. She was drawn to Girls on the Run because it combines two of her passions, running and children. Before joining the board, Kirsten was a coach at the John Muir site. She looks forward to helping expand the program so that more girls have the opportunity to participate.

Megan McNally
Megan McNally was the girl whose life would have been changed through a program like GOTR. Instead, she stumbled through adolescence and was well into adulthood before she found her legs. Now when she bumps into a daunting challenge she thinks about that last young running buddy she crossed the line of a 5k with, and remembers that anything is possible with the sheer force of will. This serves her well in her current role as a consultant to organizations trying to make positive change in the world.
In addition to consulting and training, Megan lead the public policy efforts for Philanthropy Northwest. She teaches grantwriting at the University of Washington's Evans School of Public Affairs and fundraising in the UW's Nonprofit Leadership certificate program. Megan serves on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Washington Chapter and has previously held senior development positions at NPower National and Refugee Women's Alliance.

Rosalee Campbell
Rosalee works in Marketing at Expedia and has held roles in businesses in a variety of functions, with an MBA from the University of Chicago. She enjoys being active and likes running, snowboarding, and hiking.
She is passionate about GOTR because playing sports were important to her growing up and she believes that through running and positive messages, we can increase the confidence of girls at a vulnerable age.

Sara Reyerson
Sara is an avid supporter of girls reaching their full potential. Over the years, she has invested her time in the well-being of women and girls; including efforts centered around health, safety, and leadership development. Sara currently works at the Women's Funding Alliance as the Director of Grant Programs where she oversees all the foundation's grant-making initiatives. She is excited to help our organization strategically grow as she brings her professional funding expertise to the Board. Sara is originally from the Midwest and moved to Seattle from Minnesota in 2001. Sara enjoys running during her free time.
